Mr. Surinder Pal Singh Bindra has worked in Punjab And Sind Bank from Oct. 1975 to Aug. 2013 as an Officer of the Bank. He was mostly involved in Law and Recovery Deptt. Of the Bank at HO and Zonal Office level. He was instrumental in recovery of NPAs of the Bank by filing of Suits for recovery of dues from bank’s borrowers by engaging Advocates on Bank’s panel, in various courts including Debt Recovery Tribunals established under the DRT Act. He has sufficient exposure in pursuing cases under SRFAESI Act 2002 for enforcement of security interest of the Bank by Auction of immoveable properties of defaulting borrowers kept as security with the Bank. Besides, the Banks are now a days effecting huge recovery through Loan Restructuring and One Time Settlements with the defaulters of the Bank as per RBI norms and Mr. Bindra has negotiated the same.
Mr. Bindra obtained LL.B., degree, from Delhi University, during this Bank’s service in 1984, as a regular student of Law Centre I (Evening), Mandir Marg, New Delhi, under three years degree course. After his retirement from Bank’s service on August 31, 2013, Mr. Bindra got enrolled as an Advocate with Bar Council of Delhi in 2013.
Mr. Bindra has gained sufficient experience of about 10 years in all the fields of Law viz., Civil Laws, Criminal Laws, Family Laws, Commercial Courts Act, 2015, Banking Laws, such as Negotiable Instruments Act, 1949, Cheque Bounce cases, filing of Criminal complaints under section 138 of N.I.A 1949.
